Cars for Smiles In Madrid – 30th of September 2017
On September 30th, 2017, the Cars For Smiles organization held its first event in Madrid; after having celebrated three events in Barcelona, it was time to take a leap to another great city.
It was a huge success, but what is Cars for Smiles?
Cars for Smiles has as its main objective to put a smile on the faces of young boys and girls that are being subjected to intensive or long-lasting clinical treatments. How do we achieve it? by bringing these young girls and boys together with owners of sports and luxurious high-end cars during a day that is full of activities related to the world of motorsport.
On this occasion, the meeting point was located in the magnificent facilities of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). After a good breakfast we left in a convoy composed of thirty super cars, accompanied by the Guardia Civil, to the Jarama Circuit.
Once there, and as always with the invaluable collaboration of the circuit and all its staff, the drivers and the youngsters took to the track for an hour. They had the chance to do several laps and enjoy the driving skills of our experienced drivers; After that, the families of the boys and girls paid a visit to the drivers enclosure, where they could enjoy the cars, chat with the drivers and were treated to a very extensive exhibition of motorcycles (ADN Motos), a display that would have delighted even the most accomplished bikers
We continued with a wonderful meal inside the Circuito de Jarama itself, in which the youngsters and pilots came together again and ended with the presentation of 2 cheques, for a total of 8,000 Euros, to the QuirónSalud and Puerta de Hierro collaborating hospitals, the funds being the fruit of the generosity of the participants and the main sponsor. Once again we managed to contribute our grain of sand to some of the most interesting projects that are being carried out, their common shared goal being to improve the lives of patients at the younger end.
After the activities on the circuit, we returned to the facilities of the RFEF, where we ended the day with a tasty snack during which the youngsters said goodbye accompanied by applause, well wishes and, above all, a desire to meet again at future events.
After a successful day like this, we can only offer our thanks to sponsors and volunteers for the excellent level of organization, which serves to push us forward with all the strength in the world and to work even harder so that days like this can be repeated. The collaboration and commitment of all the people and institutions that have supported us have made the day’s events possible.
As you can see in the backdrops of the photocall, our list of collaborators is not only extensive, but of the highest quality. In it we find our main sponsor, Grupo Itevelesa, who has given us all the financial support necessary to make the event a reality, as well as the QuirónSalud and Puerta de Hierro public hospitals, whose collaboration, good work, and availability are worthy of our highest admiration.
To them, and to all the others, we can only say: THANKS FROM THE HEART!
